Brewed With Purpose: An 860Kombucha Journey at The UNITED


Join us at the UNITED Table as the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center sits in conversation with David Brannan, founder and head brewer of Mystic’s own 860Kombucha, the first kombucha brewery in Eastern Connecticut. Learn about the history and art of Kombucha and 860’s partnerships with local farms where they source the fresh and ingredients that flavor their brews. Taste a seasonal kombucha brewed especially for this event!

Bubbling Brews: The Science and Craft of Kombucha


Join David Brannan, the founder and head brewer at 860Kombucha, to learn about the art of fermenting tea. You will learn how to use a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) to guide your tea through fermentation, flavor it with ingredients of your choice, and create a SCOBY hotel (storage container) for continuous brewing. You will taste a variety of 860Kombucha flavors and leave with a kombucha home brewing kit!

Spring in a Bottle: Crafting Vinegars at Home


You will sample vinegars flavored with spring botanicals and use them to make an aioli and a shrub to bring back to your home kitchens. Cookbooks will be available for purchase.

Growing Through The Seasons: Gardening Workshops


Yellow Farmhouse and Stone Acres farmers will help you create a blueprint for your beds, plan for produce throughout the growing season, manage weeds and pests sustainably, tend tomatoes, cultivate your soil, and put your garden to rest in the fall. All experience levels are welcome!
